The Stoners Selling Legal Weed in Thailand
Produced & Directed by Teirra Kamolvattanavith
I had the privilege to grade the documentary "The Stoners Selling Legal Weed in Thailand". This film delves into the recent decriminalization of cannabis in Thailand and the booming industry that has emerged as a result.
Using Resolve, I worked on grading the footage to ensure that the colours were vibrant and brought out the essence of the story. The film features Arun "Max" Avery, Rattapon "Guide" Sanrak, and Chaiwat “Wat” Banjai, co-founders of Highland Café, one of the country's most famous legal dispensaries that now also sells buds.
With the legalization of cannabis, the industry has experienced a legal free-for-all, which has resulted in mixed interpretations of the government's regulations. The film explores the challenges faced by those in the industry as they navigate the complex legal landscape.
As a viewer, you will witness the passion and determination of the Highland team as they strive to make a difference in the lives of those who rely on cannabis for medicinal purposes. The documentary also sheds light on the thriving 4/20 festival in Thailand, which started as a Facebook page 10 years ago and has now grown to become the biggest event of its kind in the country.
Overall, "The Stoners Selling Legal Weed in Thailand" offers a unique perspective on the emerging cannabis industry in Thailand, and I am honoured to have been part of the team that helped bring this story to life.
